v0.7

Hello everyone!

It's my birthday today, but more excitingly, I'm back with another update for Rollcadium!

If you'd played it before, you might think it looks very different now to the previous versions, and you'd be correct. I've completely abandoned the hard pixel aesthetic and gone for a more hand-drawn comic-book-esque look and feel. This meant I had write new shaders for the dice and redraw all the items to fit the new style, but fortunately most of the underlying logic code could remain the same.

One of the big mechanical changes I made was to remove the rule nodes (they were a bit experimental anyway) and replace it with the Upgrade Meter, which fills every time you roll and unlocks an upgrade if you fill it. This is meant to be a bit of a risk/reward decision by the player, because re-rolling increases the meter but could also result in rolling a lower score.

Another bit of exciting news - Rollcadium has been accepted into Playtopia and will be part of their public showcase in early December! I am really looking forward to that as I've not had a game be part of something like this before.

Stay tuned, I've got more updates planned for more items and more interesting mechanics in the future!

Thanks for playing and happy rolling!
